Notices for Suspected Gas Leak and Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Detectors

Building Owners and Managers are required to post notices that advise tenants:

• How to handle a suspected gas leak
• That their apartment should have at least one operational smoke detector
• That their apartment should have at least one carbon monoxide detector

A sample notice can be viewed and downloaded here.

In order to comply with the requirements, the notice should be posted in a common area where it is firmly secured to a wall. The notice itself should be durable. Either a laminated poster or one tacked in a locked glass frame will suffice.
