$6 Million in Grants Available for Owners’ Green Projects
The City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is looking for property owners to apply for grants that would pay for certain green projects. Specifically, they will fund 100% of design and construction costs for projects located in combined sewer areas that reduce stormwater runoff. Eligible projects must manage at least 1″ of stormwater runoff. Projects include blue roofs, rain gardens, green roofs, porous pavement and rainwater harvesting.
The application is available online and can be accessed here, upon registering with the DEP. The deadline is May 6, 2014 for applications that will be reviewed in the spring. Fall applications are due by October 21, 2014.
